ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS LEARNING DAY
Download AHP PDF

In this modern age it is becoming increasingly important to have an evidence base to all treatments, both medical and with in the physical therapies and psychosocial therapies. The medical research community has developed “core outcome criteria”, however these are often not adequately sensitive or relative to the research the Allied Health Professionals (AHP’s) would be involved in.
This course is designed for all AHP’s, including Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Psychologists, Podiatrists, and Social Workers etc.
The aim of the course is to look at physical assessments and to start to try to develop a standardised assessment that any AHP could perform as outcomes for any research that they might do in the future. The course should also be beneficial for any AHP involved in any of the medical multi-centred drugs trial and who may be involved in the assessments for these studies.
The PReS AHP group is aiming to develop and become more active in international multidisciplinary team research and the initial phase would be to develop a standardised assessment proforma that could be used. This could then be utilised with the other research initiative that will be discussed later on within the PReS meeting.
It is hoped that as many people as possible will attend this day in order to have as much in-put into starting to develop an internationally recognised assessment proforma.
